Passionate Artist Joins Board of Trustees

The Trustees of the Robert Juniper Award for the Arts are delighted to announce the appointment of former dancer and contemporary Western Australian figurative artist Jo Meredith as Trustee to the Board.

In 2014, Meredith was the RJAFTA Award recipient of the Bob and Trish Juniper Art Award, and she has maintained a strong association with Juniper Galleries since that time. Juniper Galleries is owned and run by RJAFTA principal sponsor and patron Patricia Juniper. Meredith curates and exhibits at the Galleries, which is situated in Darlington.

Having such a close association with our sponsor and patron, and as a former award recipient, Meredith has a strong understanding of the Award and her background and experience in the arts will be invaluable to the Trust.

After completing her Bachelor of Fine Arts at UWA Meredith furthered her professional training at ateliers in Florence, Salisbury, London & Tasmania. Her practice continues to evolve as her love of life and impulse to create in oils deepens.

In 2022 Meredith worked with The Montauk Lighting Co (Montauk) on their charity exhibition JOY, held in support of the kids at PCH through Starlight & The Lester Prize. Her IRIS collection is currently on show at Montauk, West Leederville.

Meredith is a former dancer and currently teaches yoga at Open House Yoga. She loves contemporary dance and the movement of dance echoes in many of her paintings.

Meredith describes her work as 'Joyful. A celebration of life and our connections with nature and each other'.

“I am honoured to be appointed to the Board of Trustees. The arts is at the core of my being, and my desire and passion to help young creatives reach their goals is something I have wanted to sink my teeth into for sometime.”

We know that Jo will be an assett to the Board, and we extend an enthusiastic welcome to her!
