MUSICIANKAYPS
In a strong field of extraordinary creative talent, the Trustees for the Robert Juniper Award for the Arts is delighted to announce Jett Bieundurry as the recipient of this year's scholarship award. Jett's musical versatility, steadfast commitment to artistic expression, and the thorough and thoughtful approach outlined in his project proposal impressed all the adjudicators. While not mandatory according to the award criteria, the judges believed that Bieundurry's project had the potential to not only improve his personal skills but also create a ripple effect by enriching his community. They unanimously selected him after an intense evaluation of an exceptional lineup of finalists.

Bob and Trish Juniper Visual Art Award
In addition to our major scholarship award, from 2011 to 2015 applicants were also offered the opportunity of a $1,000 award donated by our first patron Robert Juniper and his wife Patricia Juniper. The first recipient was artist Rosie Vinicombe, and the last was artist Cherie Tucker.
Cherie Tucker was born in 1991 in England and moved to Western Australia at the age of 5. Her main artistic interests are painting and drawing especially working with charcoal, coloured pencil, oil paint and watercolours.
Predominantly enjoying portraiture as a subject matter, much of her inspiration comes from trips to Tanzania and Cambodia where she was able to stay in orphanages and get to know some wonderful children. Their bright, beautiful faces are what she hopes to capture, with most of the funds from sales of works being donated back to the charities that run the orphanages.
Teaching children art is something Cherie also considers herself fortunate to be able to do, learning from the students as much as they learn from her at a secondary college in Western Australia. To find out more and also view her work, visit Cherie’s website HERE.
